內容摘要:Human population size has been a major measure of environmental and socioeconomic impacts throughout the human history. However, global household proliferation (faster growth in household numbers than population size) has received much less attention. This talk will illustrate patterns and mechanisms of global household proliferation. It will also discuss the roles of planning and design in addressing household proliferation for a sustainable world.

劉教授是整合生態學與社會科學的知名學者,其中,永續發展與系統整合為其研究領域之一。
2018年劉教授被Clarivate Analytics遴選為“Highly Cited Researcher”,即全球最具影響力的研究人員。
同年度Prof. Liu更成為American Academy of Arts and Sciences院士。

國立成功大學都市計劃學系專題演講:“Global Household Proliferation and Implications for Planning and Design”

演講簡介與概要:

人口與家戶規模一直是衡量人類歷史環境和社會經濟影響的主要指標。然而,全球家戶擴散(家戶數量增長快於人口規模)受到的關注較少。透過生物多樣性的全球熱點國家分析,併同解析熱點國家中的人口與家戶成長關係,可以見到在人口增長的同時家戶人口組成之質與量逐漸受到社會因素的影響,例如:人口老化、少子化、離婚率增長等,而這樣的變遷更進而影響至全球環境,例如:廢棄物、汙染之生成、資源運用的效率等。

在多種研究所面臨的挑戰之下,家戶與環境的關係也是一個針對規劃與設計的全新觀點。在人口數增長趨緩,家戶量卻穩定上升的情形之下,我們將無法只視工商製造為環境汙染與消耗的元凶,而須跨越領域,結合社會、生態與空間環境規劃的專業,以面臨逐漸複雜化的環境影響因子。
