About 2021 ICAPPS
International Conference of Asia-Pacific Planning Societies 2021 (ICAPPS 2021) will be hosted by the Taiwan Institute of Urban Planning (TIUP) in Tainan, Taiwan from August 21st. to 22nd., 2021.
In ICAPPS 2021, we plan to review and rethink smart city as new policy mobility or transfer, its diverse applications and practices of planning or governing this “smart urbanism”, the influences and impacts (or side-effects) of our urban life and urbanity.
The ICAPPS 2021 is intended to create a space and great opportunity that allows international planning researchers and planners from various universities or professional institutions within the Asia-Pacific region to develop deep communications and mutual understanding in relation to the planning and its cutting-edge themes. It seeks to facilitate researchers, planners, related professional and academic careers to flourish through respectful, inclusive, and equitable dialogue and treatment of others sharing professional information, knowledge, pressing challenges, and solutions.

Guideline for Registration and Paper Submission
The 2021 ICAPPS will only have an oral presentation due to the online format. For oral presentation, you can choose to submit an extended abstract, a full paper, or a PowerPoint file.
Extended Abstract Track
Submit a 2-4 pages long abstract including tables and figures.
Full Paper Track
Submit an 8~20 pages long full paper with an abstract on the first page.
- The abstract format should follow the attachment “Abstract sample”, and fill in “Application Sheet” including your contact number, address, and E-mail.
